Isn't
it easier to simply keep "status quo"?
Just keep the old family clunker - who wants new payments?
Don't go to the Dr - who knows what he'll find?
If I only work one more year before retirement...
Truth
be known, we struggle over the "new" because
we know the "old"; we dont know the "new".
Simon
Peter was faced with status quo in the little dingy with
his fellow disciples. He could have kept to himself, but
NO, he had to ask, "Lord if that is you, call me
out"
You know the rest of the story; he was called out!
Moses
was faced with status quo before entering the Promised Land.
He knew they were to enter but still sent in spies; no problem!
The problem came when the people favored status quo over
obedience to the Lord."We were like grasshoppers
in their sight!"
You know the rest of the story; 40 more years!
The weekend of September 12-14 will be an interesting weekend
for our church. We're sort of mixing "spies" with
being "called" by having our church architect
do a feasibility study among our people about a potential
building project. Is it time for our church to expand our
facilities?
It will
be our little way of asking the Lord "Lord if that
is you, call me out"
...and we DON'T KNOW the rest of the story!
Agape,
Pastor Mark
